Welcome to the Freedom Roc's fan site. Freedom Roc's is a libertarian oriented cable access TV talk show executive produced by Max Kessler through the facilities of Rochester Community Television. Neither RCTV nor any libertarian organization is responsible for the content of Freedom Roc's.
Some of you may already know that in 2014 I dropped out of the Libertarian Party (at all levels) due to the refusal to disclaim even the most bizarre conspiracy theories espoused by people waving the Libertarian banner — including LP endorsed candidates — as official Libertarian Party positions. The traditional view has been that if the LP itself had not stated a position, then it is not a position, but when members and candidates persistently put forth conspiracy theories in association with their Party membership or Party endorsed candidacy, what else is the public to believe?
On the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Libertarian Party of New York posted a blog entry commemorating this tragic event. The post titled "Message from the LPNY Chair on the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks" finally acknowledges, "and as the news unfolded, it became clear the small plane was actually a commercial jetliner, and another had collided with the second tower." and, "President George W. Bush and his neoconservative government advisors proceeded in short order to draw up war plans targeting the Taliban government in Afghanistan, which was purported to be providing shelter and comfort to the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden."
Here's a summary of recent information from other States' Libertarian Parties:
The other day, my cell phone issued a very loud, annoying tone. When I checked it, there was an Amber Alert, which I subsequently searched for how to disable. On the screen where alerts are configured, there is a read-only, enabled, setting for "Presidential Alerts." Short of rooting your cell phone, there is no way to disable Presidential Alerts,
On January 6th, when a violent mob tried to overthrow the US Congress, Donald Trump went on television to ask them to stop, knowing full well they were too busy rioting to watch TV. The solution would have been to issue a Presidential Alert. Had that occurred, the Capitol Building would have resonated with thousands of simultaneous cell phones emitting an awful tone to advise their owners that they received a Presidential Alert. There was no such chorus of cell phones in the Capitol Building. It sure looks like the TV broadcast was only meant to pretend to call off the zombie horde.
We are lucky to have survived 4 years of a Trump presidency. The US Senate needs to convict him and bar him from ever holding office again.
New York desperately needs legislation like the Safe Carry Protection Act signed into law last month in Georgia. It dramatically increased the legal ability of people to defend themselves in publicly accessible places. It repealed the ban on carrying in most government buildings, bars, airports (excluding terminals), etc. It allows school districts to authorize personnel to carry in schools.
The only down side is that it stops short of extending the Bill of Rights onto college campuses. Of course, this leaves us the opportunity to one-up them. (I know it will never be signed by Emperor Cuomo and we will not have a veto proof majority in either legislative house — let alone both — anytime soon, but we can still strive for greatness and take what gains we can get.)
It's happened again. There has been yet another shooting in a "Gun Free Zone"(sic). Six FedEx workers were wounded and the shooter turned the gun free gun on himself. When will people learn that "Gun Free Zones"(sic) have deadly consequences?
At least this "Gun Free Zone"(sic) was the result of a misguided employer, rather than being forced on the public by evil politicians. FedEx has every right to decide whether to allow employees to defend themselves on the company's private property, but must bear the responsibility for the bloody consequences of making easy victims of their employees.
Here's some more merchandise to protest the Patient Protection(sic) and Affordable(sic) Care Act (aka: ObamaCare). These designs feature the Grim Reaper as your new doctor and are all available through the Freedom Roc's CafePress Shop.
